Do Not Resuscitate ( DNR) Orange Bracelet Program Information, the required paperwork and orange plastic DNR Bracelets are available by contacting the NHACEP Office. The Bracelets are distributed to Visiting Nurse Agencies, Hospice Agencies and Physicians, they are not given to individuals. The Bracelets are intended for terminally ill patients in the home or nursing home setting that have less than 6 months life expectancy. They have a hand raised in the stop signal to alert Emergency Medical Providers that the patient wishes to have Comfort Care measures only, that the patient wishes for no heroic efforts. The Bracelets are intended to be a step beyond the Living Will and Durable Power of Attorney for Healthcare, a visible sign that states the patients wishes. |
